In the last five years, Singapore has witnessed a concerning rise in Noise-Induced Deafness (NID) cases, with a staggering 1,093 workers being diagnosed. In 2022 alone, 624 cases were identified, making NID the second highest contributor to occupational diseases, just after Occupational Musculoskeletal Disorder.


This webinar aims to equip attendees with the necessary information to safeguard their hearing in the workplace. We will delve into key areas, including the management of noise hazards at the workplace, the selection of effective hearing protection, understanding noise monitoring requirements, exploring attenuation ratings, and emphasizing the significance of fit testing.

    Ms. Ashwiyni is a Senior Specialist with the Occupational Hygiene Branch of Occupational Safety and Health Division, Ministry of Manpower. She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science (Safety, Health and Environmental Technology) from the National University of Singapore.

    She provides specialist support in the areas of OSH standards, best practices, research and development. Her role as a Specialist involves assessment and control of health hazards at workplaces to safeguard persons at work. She also engages stakeholders on implementation of engineering control measures to reduce exposure and the implementation of workplace health programmes to manage health hazards at the workplaces.

Zoey has more than 15 years of experience in HSE with 10 years working as Area HSE Manager for Honeywell Inc., managing the various business units and manufacturing sites of Honeywell in Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines. She also led the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Subject Matter Expert (SME) team in Honeywell for 2 years, with focus on improving internal procedures and projects to minimize enterprise’s IH risks.
